Lesson 1: Teen numbers with tens frames
Tens frames in this lesson are the first anchor used to learn the teen numbers (as digits only). The full first frame is ten without counting, and the second frame shows how many more. This is the first opportunity to learn how to say and write the numbers using digits (words to come later) through tens frames representations.

Lesson 2: Counting collections to 20
A student counts 11 to 20 objects using a deliberate tracking strategy, such as moving each object aside as it is counted, or marking the page. Noting that students may lose track, mis-count and double-count and still land on the correct number by chance.
